This is the first issue of the National Center on Educational Outcomes e-newsletter. In this issue, NCEO highlights the whirlwind of changes that we are all experiencing – the CCSS, the assessment consortia, shifting assessment policies, flexibility waivers, and more – and how they all relate to students with disabilities. NCEO welcomes feedback and ideas about what you would like to see in future issues of this quarterly e-newsletter. Please visit all articles contained in this first issue.
The information in the newsletter was valuable as well as the resources it linked to, including conference information, white papers, and reports. The site was easy to navigate and the information easily accessible. It did seem to lack some detail, but maybe that's the nature of a newsletter. This resource seems like a good place to get information related to students with disabilities and how they are affected by the CCSS transition and changes in large scale accountability assessments. If they continue to publish short, up-to-date pieces linked to longer resources, it has the potential to be very effective.
