This resource is the website for Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS), which offers services to the K–college community. As a research and development organization, BSCS mainly provides professional development to educators at national conferences and by request from districts and other organizations. Its mission is to transform science teaching and learning through research and development that strengthens learning environments and inspires a global community of scientifically literate citizens. The BSCS curriculum supports Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) instruction, applying decades of research on inquiry, and leadership on research of scientific practices and pedagogies.
This resource provides links to access research and resources through a filtered drop-down menu. BSCS offers three strands of professional development, through institutes and academies across the country or through customized programs at the school or district levels. One of its professional development strands emphasizes NGSS implementation. A listing of all of the available presentations for the year, with dates and locations at national and regional conferences, is available.
