Innovative Assessment Demonstration Authority Pilot under ESSA: Frequently Asked Questions

As part of the Every Student Succeeds Act, states will have the opportunity to apply for the innovative assessment demonstration authority pilot, which would allow states to administer innovative assessments in place of statewide assessments in selected districts. The purpose of this pilot is to allow states to try out innovative assessments that are intended to eventually be used statewide. This document outlines questions states may have about the pilot, and provides information on the stipulations of the pilot.
