Stage 1 – Development/Revision

Stage 1 of the standards revision process requires the appropriate governing bodies to identify the need for a standards review, create a timeline for the review/revision process, and engage with the larger community to begin building a review committee and soliciting feedback from the public. Stakeholder engagement and communication are crucial during the Development/Revision stage, as buy-in and support from all stakeholders will be necessary to ensure a smooth adoption and transition later on.

The conclusion of the Development/Revision stage will be marked by adoption of new/revised standards.
